How to resize a GIF

  1. Drop your GIFs

Original dimensions are read instantly — no upload bar, because there is no upload. Everything runs on your machine.

  2. Set the size

Exact pixels with aspect lock, a percentage slider, or one-click presets for Discord emotes, stickers and common web widths. A live preview shows the resized animation and its new file size before you commit.

  3. Download

Each result shows its new dimensions and file size. Download one, or the whole batch as a ZIP.

A real example

Resizing does double duty — new dimensions and a much smaller file, since weight scales with pixel area:

Frequently asked questions

Does resizing keep the animation?

Yes. Every frame is rescaled and the original timing is kept, so the result plays identically at its new size.

Will my GIF get blurry?

Downscaling stays sharp with a good filter — default is Catmull-Rom, and Lanczos is one click away for maximum crispness. Upscaling beyond the original size always softens, because there's no extra detail to invent.

Is my GIF uploaded anywhere?

No — resizing runs in your browser with the gifsicle engine compiled to WebAssembly. No upload, no queue, no retention.

What sizes do Discord / Telegram need?

Discord emotes: 128×128 (animated ones must stay under 256 KB — pair with the compressor). Discord stickers: 320×320. Telegram stickers: 512 px on the long side. All available as presets.

Can I force exact dimensions?

Yes — unlock the aspect ratio and type any width × height. Keep the lock on to avoid stretching.

Does resizing shrink the file size?

Substantially: weight scales with pixel area, so half the dimensions ≈ quarter the bytes. For a hard cap (e.g. “under 2 MB”), run the result through the GIF compressor's target-size mode.

Can I batch-resize to one size?

Yes — drop many files, set once, ZIP out. Percentage mode is best when the batch has mixed dimensions.

Resize or crop?

Resize scales everything; crop cuts edges away. To change shape without distortion, crop first, then resize.
